The Highschool Life of a Fudanshi (2016)

Ryou Sakaguchi doesn’t have it easy: as a young man and “fudanshi” who loves reading boys love mangas, he is only eyed from many sides. But that doesn’t stop Ryou from pursuing his passion. And although he describes himself as one hundred per cent heterosexual, he likes to fantasise about his boys-love stories. The problem is that he can’t really talk to anyone about it because all his friends have no real interest in such things. His plan to finally find someone with whom he can talk about such topics is getting further and further away …

But all that is soon to change when he meets Rumi Nishihara, who, for her part, is also an absolute Boys Love fan. And with Yuujirou Shiratori, Akira Ueda and Daigo, other potential conversation partners soon enter his life.

Ryou Sakaguchi hat es nicht leicht: Als junger Mann und »Fudanshi«, der Boys-Love-Mangas liest, wird er von vielen Seiten nur beäugt. Das lässt Ryou aber dennoch nicht von seiner Leidenschaft abbringen. Und obwohl er sich selbst als hundertprozentig heterosexuell bezeichnet, fantasiert er gerne über seine Boys-Love-Geschichten. Das Problem dabei ist, dass er sich mit niemandem wirklich darüber unterhalten kann, weil alle seine Freunde kein wirkliches Interesse an solchen Dingen haben. Sein Plan, endlich jemanden zu finden, mit dem er über solche Themen reden kann, rückt immer weiter in die Ferne …

Das alles soll sich jedoch bald ändern, als er Rumi Nishihara trifft, die ihrerseits ebenfalls ein absoluter Boys-Love-Fan ist. Und mit Yuujirou Shiratori, Akira Ueda und Daigo treten bald weitere potenzielle Gesprächspartner in sein Leben.
