When the Battle City tournament is over, an ancient power awakens deep beneath the desert of Egypt. Anubis, defeated centuries ago by Yugi’s mysterious second self – the ancient pharaoh – returns to seek revenge. With the power of the eighth Millennium Item, Anubis decides to destroy Yugi and take over the world. He challenges the pharaoh to a duel, but the pharaoh is unable to withstand his opponent’s attacks. The opponent uses a special duel strategy to maximise the powers of his Millenium Item. He erects a glass pyramid around the duel field, which damages Yami more and more throughout the duel. Meanwhile, Yugi, Joey and Tristan are inside the Millennium Puzzle, trying to find a way to defeat Anubis. Now all of Yami-Yugi’s skills as a master of “Duel Monsters” are called for – after all, the fate of the Earth depends on it …

Nach dem Ende des Battle City Turniers erwacht tief unter der Sandwüste Ägyptens eine alte Macht. Dem Widersacher nützt eine besondere Duell-Strategie, die die Kräfte seines Gegenstandes zu maximieren. Er ist in der Lage eine gläserne Pyramide um das Duell-Feld zu errichten, die Yami im Laufe des Duells immer mehr schadet. Währenddessen befinden sich Yugi, Joey und Tristan im inneren des Milleniums- Puzzels, um einen Weg zu finden, Anubis zu besiegen.
