Haruka -Beyond the Stream of Time-: A Tale of the Eight Guardians (2004)

The girl Akane, together with her schoolmates Tenma and Shimon, gets caught up in an ancient Chinese-like world where she is chosen to be the priestess of the land. She is supposed to save the land from ruin and the demons that the people there are fighting – and, therefore, has to gather the Hachiyoushou, her protectors, around her.

Unfortunately, this is not always easy, especially since Tenma is also one of them, though, in every free minute, he looks for ways to find his way back home. In addition, there is the mysterious Akram, who has brought Akane into this world. Is he an enemy? Why did he ask Akane to join him? And why is there a war between humans and demons?

Das Mädchen Akane gerät zusammen mit ihren Schulkameraden Tenma und Shimon in eine altchinesisch anmutende Welt, wo sie zur Priesterin des Landes erkoren wird. Sie soll das Land vor dem Untergang und vor den Dämonen retten, gegen die die Menschen dort kämpfen – und muss daher die Hachiyoushou, ihre Beschützer, um sich versammeln.

Leider ist dies nicht immer einfach, zumal Tenma auch einer von ihnen ist – jedoch in jeder freien Minute Wege sucht, wieder zurück nach Hause zu finden. Außerdem ist da noch der geheimnisvolle Akram, der Akane in diese Welt geholt hat. Ist er ein Feind? Warum hat er Akane zu sich gerufen? Und warum herrscht der Krieg zwischen Menschen und Dämonen?
