Jack and the Beanstalk (1974)

“Jack and the Beanstalk” is about young Jack, who lives with his mother in a small house in the middle of the country. Because the two are destitute and their cow no longer gives milk, it is to be sold. When Jack drives the cow towards town, he meets a strange man and has the cow bought for a few lumpy, supposedly “magic” beans. Needless to say, his mother is not at all pleased, and while Jack becomes the target of her wrath, the beans fly out of the house in no uncertain terms. But who would have thought that these beans are actually magical? Only a little later, they have grown tendrils high into the clouds.

Jack and his dog Crosby are also visited by a clothed mouse called Mii, who persuades them both to climb up the tendrils. And what a surprise they get when high in the clouds, they arrive in the middle of a castle. The parents of Princess Margaret have disappeared without a trace. No wonder, she is beside herself and is supposedly looking forward to marrying Tulip, the monstrous son of the sinister Madam Noire. In the middle of it all are Jack and his dog, who soon find themselves in danger. But can they ever escape the place, and perhaps even save the princess from her fate?

»Tom, Crosby und die Mäusebrigade« handelt vom jungen Tom, der mit seiner Mutter in einem kleinen Haus mitten auf dem Land wohnt. Weil die beiden bettelarm sind und ihre Kuh keine Milch mehr gibt, soll diese verkauft werden. Als Tom die Kuh Richtung Stadt treibt, trifft er auf einen seltsamen Mann und lässt sich die gute Kuh für ein paar lumpige, vermeintlich »magische« Bohnen abkaufen. Es versteht sich von selbst, dass seine Mutter überhaupt nicht erfreut ist; während Tom zum Ziel ihres Zorns wird, fliegen die Bohnen ohne Umschweife aus dem Haus. Doch wer hätte gedacht, dass diese Bohnen tatsächlich magisch sind? Nur wenig später sind aus ihnen Ranken bis hoch in die Wolken gewachsen.

Tom und seinem Hund Crosby werden außerdem von einer bekleideten Maus namens Mii besucht, die beide überreden kann, die Ranken emporzusteigen. Und was für eine Überraschung sie da erleben, als sie, hoch in den Wolken, mitten in einem Schloss ankommen. Allerdings steht’s mit dem nicht zum Besten: Die Eltern der Prinzessin Margareta sind spurlos verschwunden, selbige steht regelrecht neben sich und freut sich angeblich auf eine Heirat mit Tulpe, dem monströsen Sohn der unheimlich wirkenden Madame Noire. Mittendrin stecken nun Tom und sein Hund, die schon bald selbst in Gefahr schweben. Aber können sie dem Ort je entkommen und vielleicht sogar die Prinzessin vor ihrem Schicksal bewahren?

Sinopsis:
¡Horror en el reino de las hadas! La malvada hechicera convierte a toda la corte en ratones, y quiere casar a su malvado hijo con la princesa. Lo único bueno es que justo ahora ocurre la historia con las judías milagrosas de Tom. El chico apenas puede creerlo. De las judías crece una enorme enredadera hasta las nubes. En la escalera verde hacia el cielo, él y su inteligente perro Crosby llegan a la tierra de las desafortunadas hadas. Mala suerte para la bruja malvada.
