Date a Live II OVA (2014)

It is the 7th of July, and the Tanabata Festival is in full swing. Shido is nearby but only wants to get a few things for dinner. But that is immediately taken care of when he meets Kurumi, who abruptly asks him for a date. Actually, Shido would have every reason to run away, but thanks to his curiosity – and some crocodile tears on Kurumi’s part – he finally gives in.

The longer the date lasts, the more Shido wonders about Kurumi’s current behaviour. Visiting the various food stalls and a planetarium may seem normal. But then Kurumi discovers advertisements for a free mock wedding and is determined to participate in this event. After all, it is the perfect opportunity to wear a real wedding dress. While Tohka, Kotori and Yoshino are already on the lookout for Shido and soon set about stopping this strange-looking date, the latter is completely confused: this is supposed to be Kurumi – the supposedly worst spirit being in the entire world?

This OVA episode is the 11th episode of the second season of the TV series. However, it has never been broadcast regularly and was instead included in the third volume of the light novel “Date a Live: Encore”.

Es ist der 7. Juli und das Tanabata-Festival befindet sich in vollem Gange. Shido ist zwar in der Nähe, möchte aber eigentlich nur noch ein paar Dinge fürs Abendbrot besorgen. Das erledigt sich aber sogleich, als er trifft auf Kurumi, die ihm unvermittelt um eine Verabredung bittet. Eigentlich hätte Shido ja allen Grund, das Weite zu suchen, doch dank seiner Neugier – und einigen Krokodilstränen seitens Kurumi – gibt er schließlich doch nach.

Je länger das Date andauert, desto mehr wundert sich Shido über Kurumis aktuelles Verhalten. Der Besuch der verschiedenen Essensstände sowie eines Planetariums mag ja normal wirken. Dann aber entdeckt Kurumi Werbung für eine kostenfreie Scheinhochzeit und will dieses Event unbedingt mitnehmen, schließlich ist es die Gelegenheit schlechthin, ein echtes Hochzeitskleid zu tragen. Während Tohka, Kotori und Yoshino schon auf der Suche nach Shido sind und sich bald daran machen, diese eigenwillige wirkende Verabredung zu unterbinden, ist der völlig verwirrt: Das soll Kurumi sein – das vermeintlich schlimmste Geisterwesen auf der gesamten Welt?

Diese OVA-Folge ist eigentlich die elfte Episode der zweiten Staffel der TV-Serie, wurde aber nie regulär ausgestrahlt und lag stattdessen dem dritten Volume der Light Novel »Date a Live: Encore« bei.
