Dove

Dove is a Japanese animation studio founded in 1983 under the name Studio Dove. Other studios named Seoul Dove and Shanghai Dove, as well as Studio Dove Saigon in Vietnam, were opened shortly after the company was founded.

In 1999, part of the studio was spun-off as a new branch under the name Ark Creation, and the company’s finishing/colour processes were converted to digital methods.

On March 1, 2019, the company was renamed Dove, and the spun-off Ark Creation was renamed Studio Dove.

In October of the same year, long-time contractual partner BANDAI NAMCO Pictures became the sole parent company, and Dove was given the brand name BNP Iwaki Studio, which we have registered here as a label/publication, as it primarily continues to use the name Dove for contributions to anime.

Dove ist ein japanisches Animationsstudio, welches im Jahr 1983 unter dem Namen Studio Dove gegründet wurde. Der Hauptsitz befindet sich in Iwaki, Fukushima. Weitere Studios wurden zeitnah nach der Gründung der Firma eröffnet: Seoul Dove in Korea, Shanghai Dove in China, sowie Studio Dove Saigon in Vietnam.

Im Jahr 1999 wurde ein Teil des Studios als neue japanische Zweigstelle unter dem Namen Ark Creation abgespalten. Außerdem wurden die Finishing/Color-Prozesse des Unternehmens auf digitale Verfahren umgestellt. Am 1. März 2019 wurde das Unternehmen in Dove umbenannt, während das abgespaltene Ark Creation zu Studio Dove umbenannt wurde.

Im Oktober 2019 wurde der lange Vertragspartner BANDAI NAMCO Pictures zum einzigen Mutterunternehmen. Im Zuge dessen erhielt Dove den Markennamen BNP Iwaki Studio. Da das Unternehmen jedoch bei seinen Mitwirkungen an Anime weiterhin primär den Namen Dove nutzt, wird BNP Iwaki Studio als Label/Publikation in der Datenbank von aniSearch geführt.
