Commonsense Inc. is a Japanese animation studio founded on November 18, 1996, as a subsidiary of Pierrot Plus, which was founded by Osamu Shimizu. The headquarters are currently located in the Nerima district of Tokyo. The company used to be known as Arms Corporation.
Part of the company’s main tasks are disposal, planning, and production of animations. The original reason for the company’s founding was the production of hentai anime.
On August 31, 2017, the company was renamed Commonsense Inc. with the name change of Pierrot Plus to St.Signpost. In doing so, the company’s current website was shut down.
The company was dissolved on May 31, 2020, and has been liquidating since July 22, 2020.
St.Signpost secured the name Arms to use for productions after 2020, and it has been used as St.Signpost’s label ever since.
