Beez Entertainment was a European film distributor based in France. Most anime DVDs were multilingual in German, English & French, sometimes also Dutch, Polish and/or Italian.
The company was a subsidiary of Namco Bandai Holdings. The name “Beez” is an abbreviation for Bandai European Entertainment Zone. In German-speaking countries, the company was distributed by Al!ive.
As a result of violent riots in England, a London warehouse used by Beez burned down in August 2011, destroying the publisher’s entire English stock.
In December 2011, Beez closed its offices in France. In November 2012, the company confirmed that it had ceased all operations. The licences had previously been returned or some had been taken over by other companies. The American company Bandai Entertainment, which was also a subsidiary of Namco Bandai Holdings, suffered a similar fate.
