SoftBank Group Corp. is a Japanese holding company that manages a group of companies of the same name.

The company was established in 1981 under the name SOFTBANK Corp. Japan and was founded by Masayoshi Son. As the company wanted to operate internationally, it decided to change its name to SoftBank Corp. in 1990.

A major reorganisation took place in 2015, which led to the renaming of the company to its current name, SoftBank Group Corp., and its transformation into a holding company. The subsidiary SoftBank Mobile Corp. was then renamed SoftBank Corp. as part of this process.
