Discotek Media was founded in 2005 and is an American film distributor located in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The focus of the publisher is the restoration and (re-)publishing of older anime, complemented by individual newer anime or movies.

Since 2012, Discotek has been releasing titles on Blu-ray and changed the publication for longer series without HD-Master from DVD to “SD on Blu-ray” (standard definition) in 2018. In 2019, Discotek published a 4K-Ultra-HD-Blu-ray as first US anime publisher. 2020, the publisher announced the farewell to DVD.

Discotek Media wurde 2005 gegründet und ist ein amerikanischer Filmvertrieb mit Sitz in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Der Schwerpunkt des Publishers ist die Restaurierung und (Wieder-)Veröffentlichung älterer Anime, ergänzt um einzelne neuere Anime oder Realfilme.

Seit 2012 veröffentlicht Discotek Titel auf Blu-ray und stellte 2018 die Veröffentlichung längerer Serien, für die kein HD-Master verfügbar ist, von DVD auf „SD on Blu-ray“ um (Standardauflösung auf Blu-ray). 2019 hat Discotek als erster US-Anime-Publisher eine 4K-Ultra-HD-Blu-ray veröffentlicht. 2020 gab der Publisher den Abschied von der DVD bekannt. Anfang 2022 wurde für Live-Action-Titel das Label Nihon Nights geschaffen.
