Only Serious About You (2010)

Naoki Oosawa really has his hands full. Not only does his work at the restaurant take up all of his time, but his role as a single father demands everything from him. But when daughter Chizu gets a fever and can no longer be looked after at the day-care centre, he commutes non-stop back and forth between work and home. This is also noticed by the playboy and regular at the restaurant, Seiichi Yoshioka, who is openly homosexual and does not deny that he has his eye on Oosawa. The latter now proves to be a helper in need and offers Oosawa his support. The young father is reluctant to encourage because being helped is not one of his strengths. Just as a tender relationship grows, Oosawa’s ex-wife, who has remarried and has a stepchild, shows up and wants to take care of Chizu from now on. Oosawa is faced with a difficult decision.

Naoki Oosawa hat wirklich alle Hände voll zu tun. Nicht nur, dass ihn seine Arbeit im Restaurant voll einnimmt, die Rolle als alleinerziehender Vater verlangt ihm ebenfalls alles ab. Als jedoch Tochter Chizu Fieber bekommt und sie nicht mehr in der Tagesstätte betreut werden kann, pendelt er pausenlos zwischen Arbeit und Wohnung hin und her. Das bemerkt auch Playboy und Stammgast im Restaurant, Seiichi Yoshioka, der sich offen homosexuell gibt und nicht leugnet, auf Oosawa ein Auge geworfen zu haben. Dieser erweist sich nun als Helfer in der Not und bietet Oosawa seine Unterstützung an. Nur ungern gibt der junge Vater seinen Zuspruch, denn sich helfen zu lassen gehört nicht zu seinen Stärken. Gerade als eine zarte Beziehung anfängt zu wachsen, taucht Oosawas Ex-Frau, die wieder geheiratet hat und ein Stiefkind besitzt, auf und möchte sich von nun an um Chizu kümmern. Oosawa steht vor einer schweren Entscheidung.
