Sinossi

The Second Sino-Japanese War changed a lot for Ip Man and his family. Although he did not back down during the occupation and won his duel against General Miura, he was injured and, in the end, was lucky to be able to flee with his wife and son. The three of them have been living in Hong Kong for a year now, but it’s not an easy time for Ip Man: his attempts to open a martial arts school fail due to his lack of fame, and even so, it is difficult to keep the family financially afloat.

When a young guy called Wong Shun Leung and his gang recklessly challenge Ip Man but fail miserably, they become his first students in Hong Kong. However, in their attempts to popularise the school, they clash with students from the Hung Ga School. The resulting conflict not only calls the local police to the scene but also Hung Chun-nam, the head of the alliance of all martial arts schools in Hong Kong.

Ip Man is made aware that he has to follow certain procedures if he wants to gain a foothold in the city with his school. Among other things, he has to prove his worth as a martial artist in a special ceremony. Ip Man also has to realise that not everything is proper in this scene and that there is danger from other sides, too. Once again, he has to stand up for his principles and the values of his martial art with his head held high.
