Takeo Kitahara was a Japanese animator. He worked for Tokyo Movie and Nippon Animation.

He took on his first major role in an anime production in 1977 as a character designer for the second part of “Lupin the Third”. He was also the Chief Animation Director of the four “City Hunter” series broadcast in Japan between 1987 and 1991.

He died at the age of 71.
